Dental CBCT Scans

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) provides three-dimensional images of teeth, jaws and surrounding bony structures. It may support diagnosis and treatment planning where conventional dental X-rays do not provide sufficient information.

The field of view is selected according to the scan request and the area that needs to be assessed. Images are securely returned to the requesting clinician. A dental radiology report can also be requested where required.

OPG & Cephalometric X-Rays

An OPG is a panoramic dental X-ray showing the teeth, jaws and surrounding structures in one image. It may be used for general dental assessment, orthodontic records, impacted teeth and treatment planning.

Cephalometric X-rays provide a standardised side-view image of the teeth, jaws and facial skeleton. They are commonly used in orthodontic assessment and treatment planning.

Dental Photography

Standardised dental photography supports orthodontic, restorative, implant and multidisciplinary records by providing consistent, comparable images at every stage of treatment. Using fixed angles, lighting and framing, it allows accurate tracking of changes over time and clear communication between requesting clinicians and specialists, particularly in multidisciplinary cases where images are shared across several providers.

Facial Scanning

Three-dimensional facial scans can support digital planning and visual documentation of facial proportions and soft-tissue relationships where appropriate. Facial scanning may be used alongside dental photographs and digital records for orthodontic, restorative, implant and multidisciplinary planning

Digital Intraoral Scanning

DII provides digital intraoral scanning for clinicians requiring detailed digital impressions for restorative, implant and orthodontic workflows.
Using 3Shape digital scanning technology, we capture accurate digital records of the teeth and gums without conventional impression materials. Digital files can be securely shared with the requesting clinician, laboratory or specialist where authorised.

Digital intraoral scanning can support:

  • Implant planning and restorative workflows
  • Crowns, bridges and veneer cases
  • Orthodontic and aligner records
  • Digital study models
  • Smile design combined with facial scanning
  • Communication between the dentist, laboratory and specialist team

Radiology Reports & Pathology check reports

Dental radiology reporting is available for CBCT examinations if requested. Reports are prepared by a Dental Radiologist and returned securely with the scan data.

Radiology Reports address the clinical indication on the scan request and document relevant findings visible within the scanned field of view. Clear, case-specific observations and recommendations are provided where appropriate.

Pathology Reports of the surrounding area can also be provided for those clinicians who want to report on the area of interest themselves. Contact DII to find out more about shared reporting.
